Before the Walk to 2010 Challenge, I had gotten away from a regular exercise routine because of a demanding work schedule, my family and my social life. When I heard about the Challenge, I thought that maybe it was something that I could fit into my life without changing it a lot. While watching the introductory video at Convention, I could actually picture myself fitting in some walking in ways that didn't add a lot of extra time demands to my already busy schedule. I got motivated to participate in the Challenge when I read the www.Walkto2010.org website and saw that other sisters were registered and were offering helpful hints for adding steps to daily routines. This spurred me to think of my own ways to add steps. Now, I look for ways to add more walking into my work life, like walking over to a co-worker's desk instead of calling; my personal life, like walking down store aisles just for exercise and choosing a vacation that includes plenty of walking.
Since beginning the Challenge a few days after Convention 2008 ended, I've walked over 300 miles! I find that I have a lot more energy to spend, either completing daily chores or walking even more. My clothing fits better and the scale numbers are starting to drop. I look for this Challenge to help motivate me to continue this trend all the way to Tampa in 2010! I wholeheartedly encourage every sister to add more steps to her life and experience the rewards.
